I've decided to trade in my Monday post for a Wednesday "after the birthday" post. I hope yall don't mind. YOURS TRULY HAS BEEN BLESSED TO SEE HER YEAR 21!!! Soaking enough of it in because apparently my next "hoo-ra" birthday won't be for a good several years in the future. To be honest though, shouldn't I be grateful for each and every one I'm given?
While I'm on being grateful, who am I without saying thanks for all the birthday wishes either delivered in person or through digital means. Thank you so much to the people who support me (which sounds just a step humbler than saying 'all my followers! or fans!' lol) and to my personal friends and family. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Twenty one years in and I know I still have a long way to go IJN. More years to learn, more years to laugh, years to love, cry, and basically experience/grow.
Another thing I'm grateful for is the gift of logging and sharing. I've said it before and I might as well say it again in this post. I believe everyone should utilize a journal; whether it be in a notepad diary or a computerized blog. I've been journaling in one form or the other for a very long time now. Back when diaries were hip I had this little purple one that you better believe I was attached to. Then I moved on to writing in composition notebooks for some reason... perhaps to seem older and more sophisticated.
Anyway writing things down makes it easier to clarify your thoughts and feelings, reflect on your daily life and see situations differently. You can record your own personal progress, jot down your goals, find beauty in simplicity, relieve stress--
it pretty much comes with all the cliched benefits.
I'm in love with this blog, if you can't tell already. And I'm not afraid of investing in it as the years go by.
Welcome to my journal [again] loves!♡
I've decided to write down in this post a list of goals I'd like to achieve as well as little reminders for myself as I dip further into my twenties.
- Become an OSU Alum!!! Graduate four years wiser and a step closer to (Amara Igwe, Pharm D at large)
- Continue investing in myself; staying eager to learn and develop new skills... one can always get better
- Pick up more books - Prioritize reading more and YouTube-ing less (but maybe just in the evenings)
- Build this blogging brand to be bigger and better with the help of you guys of course
- Make money and adopt the habit of actually saving it
- Speaking of habits push forward on the good ones; diet, exercise, and flossing more often
- Take more meaningful photos. And not just ones of my face.
- Filter my friends more effectively "your social circle is a huge gauge to where you’ll end up in life"
I hear they can also influence where you end up working and your income. Uhhhhhhmmmm - Become my own personal guru. Nothing wrong with an outsider's advice but...
- Be patient and enjoy the present as it is - okay got it
- Remember that hopes and dreams are good. Expectations however are borderline destructive
- Go on adventures but start on the little ones. It'll all get bigger and crazier with time
- Quit keeping things in. Easier said than done. I know
- Try listening to my hair, skin, and body overall to understand what I really need, agree with and disagree with
- Leave the foundation alone!!! Or just put some time between full faced looks. I'll thank myself for it in five years
- Let go and let GOD. Speaks for itself.
I know there's more. There's so much I can wish for. After all, I do have 21 candles don't I?
For now that's what I can think of so with everything said and those wishes/goals I can't seem to place at the moment... here's to another year another GLO-UP
Until next time!
