Hello all, I'm back again with another summer post.
I should create a schedule for these and organize everything a bit better. Which is ironic to the very topic of this video. I wanted to share with you my summer routine and plans for the next 3 months while I'm back at home (and stripped of my enjoyed freedom... jk). Not really.
I wrote in a previous post that this summer is going to be quite interesting and here's why...
I'm taking 3 online classes from home, I'm testing the PCAT in less than a month, I'm reapplying to pharmacy programs, and I'm trying to continue working in the pharmacy I work at this summer. During this all, Nigerian graduation parties, weddings, and other get togethers are in full swing and have consumed the weekends. This may be one of the first summers I actually hang back while the rest of my family goes to a party.
I've always been against that because hello. Nigerians. Nigerian music. Nigerian food. I mean...
But if push comes to shove, I guess I can dance in my room, fry plantain for myself, and eat any other type of biscuit pretending it's chin chin for a night. I'll survive.
There's a party almost every weekend. But I don't get tired.
Back to my plans.
I also have room redecorating in the books, along with a closet clear out, dieting, workouts, visiting old friends... before I know it September has arrived.
Now let's get into my routine
I usually wake up around 8 - 9 am and get ready for the day by brushing my teeth, showering if I didn't the night before, getting dressed, and having breakfast
By 11 o'clock the getting ready portion of the day is pretty much complete and I mentally break my day down.
Since I'm taking a big exam real soon I've been spending most of my time at the nearby library.
It's so close (literally a five minute walk) and I'm there for about 5 hours at best from 1 - 6 pm
I'm the type of person that leaves once I realize my breaks have turned into committed study vacations. If I find that the time I've spent browsing Youtube and Twitter has grown substantially I go ahead and call it quits. Though this only works if what I'm studying for still has time to it.
I never allow my mind to escape studying so easily if less than a week is left.
However, since there's still some time before the exam and I did just get back from final exams a week ago; I'm cutting myself some slack.
Depending on when I do get back I chill for the rest of the day. I'm known to be in my room for extended periods and I'm currently using this time to brainstorm the many other things I plan to do during the summer
-post ideas
-video ideas (Summer Naija Jams 2015)
-bedroom ideas
-application personal statement/ LOR ideas
-dance choreo ideas
SO MANY IDEAS
There's this dance I've been trying to learn lately and I can't wait to document the finished product. It's inspired by someone else's choreography and it's to Flavour & Wande Coal's song Wake Up. That's what currently takes over that 6pm to bedtime slot with dinner interruptions.
Before bed I make sure to shower (if I didn't do so in the morning - I like to switch it up sometimes something I've acquired from school). Treat my hair and treat my skin with cleansers, moisturizers, and oils. Then I'm off to sleep.
That's basically been my routine for the past three days and I don't expect to change it up in the near future.
I will be adding in my online classes come Monday and I will be putting in actual workwork as well when time permits. I'm extremely blessed to be somewhere that's lenient with my school schedule. Even during the summer since I honestly don't use that time for an actual "summer vaca" anymore.
That's my summer 2015 in a nutshell!
I look forward to including you in most of my endeavors as time moves forward.
Hope your summer is full of excitement, new experiences, maybe some change here and there for the better of course.
Until next time
PS. Did I forget to mention I'm turning 21 this summer...?
